Continue UI Breaks with Long Input in Left or even Right Chat Panel

Summary

When Continue is placed in the left chat panel and a sufficiently long input is pasted into the input field (for example, a long log line), the UI layout breaks completely.

The input does not wrap correctly, causing the chat panel to expand beyond its available width. As a result, important UI elements are pushed out of the visible area and become inaccessible.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Open Continue in the left-side chat panel.
2. Focus the chat input field.
3. Paste a sufficiently long string, such as a long log line without whitespace.
4. Observe the chat panel and surrounding UI.

Actual Behavior

• The long input causes the UI/container to expand beyond the available panel width.
• The chat window no longer fits within the left panel.
• UI elements are pushed outside the visible area.
• Important controls become inaccessible.
• The layout is effectively unusable until the problematic input is removed.

Expected Behavior

• Long input should wrap within the available width (word-wrap / overflow-wrap).
• The chat panel should respect its fixed/available width and never expand beyond its container.
• Important UI elements should remain in fixed, accessible positions regardless of input length.
• Long unbroken strings, such as log lines, should not be able to break the overall layout.

Impact

Critical usability issue. With certain real-world inputs, especially long log lines, the Continue chat becomes effectively unusable because core UI controls can no longer be accessed.
