Server-side editing not working

I installed an HC instance and I'm trying to edit code directly on my instance (server-side editing). However, it seems that the connection to my HC instance is not working. When I try to compile a new class, I get this error:

“[error] [Window] Error: Unable to read file 'isfs://hc20251:hscustom/Prova/Test.cls' (Unknown (FileSystemError): Error: Parse Error: Expected HTTP/, RTSP/ or ICE/)”
I opened a WRC to InterSystems but they advise us to open an issue here.

At the moment, as a workaround, I'm editing code using the client-side feature and it works, but I also need to set up server-side editing.

What could be the issue?

Since it only happens with certain requests we can eliminate connection errors. What happens if you make the GET request on http://localhost/hc20251/api/atelier/v8/INTEGRATEDML/doc/StressML.prova.cls from Postman? Try it with and without the IF_NONE_MATCH header. You can also try inspecting the packets using wireshark to see what the malformed response packets are.

Thanks for the suggestion @gjsjohnmurray. I’ve already verified the WebDAV module configuration, and it is not enabled in this environment.

Hi @isc-bsaviano, I tried with and without the IF_NONE_MATCH header: without the header, everything looks fine and I get 200 as a response. With the header it doesn't work and there is no response from the server.

Do you know what could be the problem? Maybe the IIS configuration?

Hi @gbiancoISC, unfortunately I am not an expert in IIS or web servers generally. I think your best bet will be to bring this updated information to the WRC and have them connect you to an advisor that s experienced with IIS. IIS should be returning a valid HTTP response regardless of the HTTPS status code returned from IRIS. For reference, when providing the IF_NONE_MATCH HTTP header in the request, the server may send a 304 Not Modified response. I suspect that IIS is mishandling this response from IRIS.
