From fb77929a3d748b7d144bdfbe68422ec31ef12c25 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: speak-agent Date: Sun, 6 Sep 2026 06:57:26 +0800 Subject: [PATCH] docs(compat.sycl-runtime): the entry is frozen, the behaviour is not The 2026.09.07 commit said 2026.09.06 "installs the farm it always did". That is false and the sandbox verification showed it: there is one `install()` in this file and it never reads `pkginfo.version()`, so a version key selects the anchor URL and nothing else. A store holding both versions shows the same `libcuda.so.1` under each. The behaviour is intended -- the content is generated rather than downloaded -- but "kept and frozen" reads as a promise about what an old pin installs, and it is not one. --- pkgs/c/compat.sycl-runtime.lua | 21 ++++++++++++++++----- 1 file changed, 16 insertions(+), 5 deletions(-) diff --git a/pkgs/c/compat.sycl-runtime.lua b/pkgs/c/compat.sycl-runtime.lua index fd2bbe62..9f3dd3cd 100644 --- a/pkgs/c/compat.sycl-runtime.lua +++ b/pkgs/c/compat.sycl-runtime.lua @@ -77,11 +77,22 @@ package = { -- compat.cuda-runtime links, under the same soname, so a program -- that has both farms on its path loads it once. deps = { "xim:dpcpp@7.1.0", "xim:zlib", "xim:libcuda-host-link" }, - -- 2026.09.06 is kept and frozen: a consumer already pinning it - -- keeps resolving, and it installs the farm it always did.
