Is your suggested feature related to a problem? Please describe.

It is currently difficult to find Minecraft servers that use a specific mod. Server Discovery has filters for things such as gameplay types and server categories, but there isn't an easy way to search for servers based on a specific mod they use.

I'm often looking for a server that uses a particular mod, but I have to manually search through server listings and check whether the mod is installed.

Describe the solution you'd like

I would like three related features for finding and identifying servers by mod.

  1. From a mod's page:
Add a "Find Servers Using This Mod" button. Clicking it would open Server Discovery with that mod automatically selected as a filter.

  2. From Server Discovery:
Add a "Mod" filter that allows users to search for a mod by name, Modrinth project, Mod ID, or keywords.

The results should show servers that list the selected mod as installed or required.

  1. Mod and plugin lists on server listings:
Allow server owners to list the mods and plugins their server uses directly on their server listing.

These should be separated into three categories:

  • Required Mods — mods that players must have installed to join the server.
  • Optional Mods — mods that players can install for additional features but are not required to join.
  • Server Mods/Plugins — mods or plugins installed on the server.

The server listing should clearly display these three categories so players can see exactly what is required, optional, and server-side before joining.

This would also make it possible for the Mod filter to find servers based on the mods they use, while clearly showing whether the mod is required, optional, or what is on the server.

Describe alternatives you've considered

I have not considered any alternative solutions.
