Hi everyone, I have quite a few casks installed that were affected by the huge commit #20134 by @MikeMcQuaid introduced in 4.5.9
As a result of the renaming commit, the renamed casks on my Mac do not get any updates any longer when I check for updates via
brew outdated. Strangely, I also did not receive any warnings/notifications for those casks since the renaming has taken place.E.g. I have cask “cog” installed.
brew outdateddoes not show any updates, because cog is now cog-app. This is the same for a number of other casks on my Mac that have been renamed. My question: what is the recommended way to “fix” those affected, renamed casks? Do I have to manually uninstall each cask and re-install every affected cask with the new “-app” replacement?
Any help would be appreciated!
