[RESEARCH] ROSBridge + JavaScript/TypeScript + React for GUI

Goal

Evaluate whether a web-based application using ROSBridge + React is a good choice for building the Pilot Interface application.

Tasks

• Set up a minimal React frontend communicating with ROS2 via rosbridge_server.
• Explore feasibility of handling SSH/tmux node management from the backend.
• Test development workflow, including local dev server and deployment.
• Document maintainability, scalability, and integration with drone operators’ workflows.

Deliverable

• A pros and cons list for using ROSBridge + React as the GUI technology.

@kluge7 just throwing it out there that you could look towards grpc+proto as an alternative to ros-bridge, to get a looser coupling between the gui and everything ros 👀
