Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:
Sometimes, seemingly randomly and unrelated to your usage of a Steam Machine, shutting it down makes it hang on a shutdown screen (the one with the logo, white square with a blue circle) for about 1.5 minutes before shutting down fully.
Usually the entire process, from clicking the button on the screen to LED lights turning off, takes no more than 10 seconds. I could not pinpoint the exact reason why this happens, as by checking journalctl -b in Konsole I didn't see much difference between "normal" log and "hanged" log.
Some other users also seem to be having this issue, like in Gaming on Linux article - Rebooting for example (like when needed due to sleep problems) sometimes it will just sit on the Steam Machine logo screen for a good 3-4 minutes. Other times it reboots rather quickly, but there's times it's waiting on something - but you get no idea what it's doing.
Steps for reproducing this issue:
- Go to Application Menu (or Start Menu) > Shut Down and press it
- Your Steam Machine should go through the entire shutdown process in ~10 seconds, and then the screen and LEDs should go black, indicating the machine is now off
- Do this a few more times while using or not using the Steam Machine normally (e.g. browsing, playing, coding, etc.) between shutdowns
- If during your next shutdown you see a logo being shown on a screen for suspiciously long amount of time, this is the problem I'm talking about.
Below are the logs I managed to get for "normal" and "hanged" shutdowns using journalctl -b -2 > shutdown-norm.log and journalctl -b -1 > shutdown-crash.log
