Calling download API on a remote project file which already exists errors #7956

Open

Description

@emesare

I would imagine this not to be the intended behavior, i would prefer this to be a no-op or return an "already exists" status.

This will occur for any of the following apis: Python, Rust, C++

remote = binaryninja.collaboration.active_remote()
proj = remote.get_project_by_id("23ce5eaa-f532-4a93-80f2-a7d7f0aed040")
file = proj.get_file_by_name("a8293.ko")
file.download()
file.download()

    Yeah, I'm not sure what the best answer is at the moment, but I think we can agree that "RuntimeError: Operation Failed" isn't it.

    If we simply made it a no-op, and your on-disk copy of the file differed from the one that was online, would that be a problem for you? (For example: You had downloaded an older copy, and/or you have local changes that haven't been synced yet.)
