i mentioned my opinion regarding this in #46 and #45
i have never read this, and i don't think most of WG21 has ever read this at all either. i certainly do not expect users to care about the correct way to write different currencies
linking a random standard about currencies is not really consistent with a "curator site with quality resources" either, it just feels like we are being pedantic
Also I am pretty sure ISO 4217 has less sales than winrar, so we shouldn't even link it for free as we are doing free marketing for ISO. Maybe we can have a referral link to ISO.org so we can get commissions from the sales of the standard, in case someone buys it through our link?
It is not a random standard, it is one referred to by 14882. That one is curated, just not necessarily only by us 😛
I do not want any referral links whatsoever and I don't care for the couple of pennies ISO could possibly pay us. This site has no operating costs other than the domain and that's relatively cheap. It's immaterial how many sales this particular standard has, it is textbook definition of a related standard (since it is directly referred to by 14882). |
Yeah, so, I mentioned this in #45 What I mean by that is, I think having a link to a currency representation standard where you can't even read to the said standard, in a C++ curator site, is quite random said bibliography has do we really need to link everything that is mentioned in the standard, just for the sake of it? |

Not everything in the bibliography (although those books could be added to our book page), just the related standards. Also it's not "just for the sake of it". Those matter and I don't want to dig through the standard to find the relevant ones every time. That's especially interesting for referenced standards that do not appear directly in the bibliography (ie IEEE 754). |
