   OK folks, this issue landed with me recently – I have gone through #873 to find all the unresolved issues left over after it was merged early. There were just a few…

   I’ve been generally marking them as v8, as they are really part of #873, though I did triage one or two to v9 but there might be others – I’ll leave that to others.

   I have tried to leave all the threads in #873 that have been spun off as sub-issues open so the links to them work, but the length of the PR means there are a number of collapsed sections you’ll need to expand to see some of them.

   I assigned a few of the spun off issues to myself, these were usually short ones I could quickly add to a PR in process to cover other pattern issues still pending for v8. That PR should drop tomorrow…
