BRAINS, a framework based on Convolutional Variational Autoencoders that learns subject-specific latent spaces directly from BOLD signals. Using Procrustes alignment, we show that individual latent spaces can be aligned across participants, revealing both shared and idiosyncratic components of cortical organization.
