GitHub "Commit Changes" button position change #734

Closed

Description

@susannamau

Hi! Referring to this paragraph of the guide, https://www.pyopensci.org/lessons/CONTRIBUTING.html#how-to-commit-your-changes, that says

scroll down to the bottom of the page. You will see a section called “Commit changes”. Here you can write a title and a description for your changes."

I noticed that actually, when modifying a text file from the GitHub online editor, the button "Commit changes" is at the top of the page

Image

and the section where to write title and description of the changes appears only when clicking it

    Hi! I would like to work on this. I plan to update CONTRIBUTING.md so it points to the Commit changes button at the top right of the editor, explains the Propose changes dialog, and updates the related image description. I will keep the PR scoped to this instruction.
