Summary

The .github/dependabot.yml committed on 2026-07-25 was the unmodified starter template with package-ecosystem: "", which makes the whole file invalid. Dependabot version updates never ran — zero Dependabot PRs have ever been created in this repo.

Changes

Weekly npm updates:

  • dev-dependency minor/patch updates arrive grouped in one weekly PR (open-pull-requests-limit: 10)
  • prettier, typescript, eslint, @eslint/*, typescript-eslint, @typescript-eslint/* are excluded from the group and from auto-merge — they need coordinated config work and human review
  • typescript semver-major updates are ignored entirely for now
  • the exact @rockcarver/frodo-lib pin is included, so new library releases automatically arrive here as a PR

Weekly github-actions updates (workflow action bumps, previously never updated).

Dependabot security updates will be enabled separately in repo settings after this merges.

Part of the dependency-automation/tooling plan (Phases 0-1).

The previous dependabot.yml was the unmodified starter template with an
empty package-ecosystem, which makes the whole file invalid - Dependabot
version updates never ran (no Dependabot PR has ever been created).

Configure weekly npm updates (grouped dev minor/patch, with
prettier/typescript/eslint excluded for human review) and weekly
github-actions updates. The exact @rockcarver/frodo-lib pin is included,
so new library releases arrive here automatically.
